BJJ
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focused on grappling and ground fighting, and it teaches how to use leverage and technique to defeat a stronger, larger opponent. Since Royce Gracie dominated in the early UFC tournaments, BJJ has become a key discipline for fighters across the globe. In addition to it’s usefulness for MMA, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can also be trained as a sport or for self defense.
At Next Generation MMA Liverpool, we train with and without the Gi uniform. You do not have to train in the Gi to be graded; we are one of few gyms in the UK that award belt ranks for Nogi BJJ, and the only gym to do so in Liverpool.

Taught by BJJ Black Belt Paul Rimmer, classes are suitable for women, children and men of any age who are eager to learn. The atmosphere is friendly, but remains competitive. When you join Next Generation, we make you feel part of the team as soon as you walk through the door. Everybody is welcome!
There are numerous seminars throughout the year with top class black belts visiting from across the world. Last year saw Next Generation founder Chris Brennan and ADCC 2011 medalist Jeff Glover fly over to teach and train with us. These are unmissable events.
You can check out the timetable to see when BJJ classes are available, and don’t forget to check out the blog for competition and training updates.
